Original Valid Driver's License: Tourists must have a valid license from their home country (an International Driving Permit is recommended for non-English/Arabic licenses). UAE residents must have a valid UAE driving license.
Credit Card: A credit card in the main driver's name is mandatory for the security deposit.
The minimum age to rent a car is 21 years. For certain premium, luxury, or SUV categories, the minimum age may be 25 years.
Unfortunately, a credit card is a mandatory requirement by all UAE rental companies for the security deposit block. Debit cards or cash deposits are not accepted for this hold.
Most foreign licenses are valid for tourists renting a car. However, if your license is not in English or Arabic, you must obtain an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home country before you travel. UAE residents must hold a valid UAE driving license.
Speed Limits: Strictly enforced by radar. Always observe posted limits, especially on highways and in city transitions.
Seat Belts: Mandatory for all passengers.
Mobile Phones: Use only with a hands-free kit.
Zero Tolerance: Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is a serious criminal offense with severe penalties.
Salik Tolls: Your rental car will be equipped with a Salik tag. All toll charges incurred during your rental period will be calculated and charged to you.

Immediately call the police at 999. Do not move the vehicles before they arrive unless instructed. A police report is mandatory for all accidents, however minor.

A pre-authorization (hold) is placed on your credit card at the time of pickup. This deposit is a security block for any potential traffic fines, Salik tolls, damages, or fuel. The hold is released upon the safe return of the vehicle, provided there are no outstanding charges. The release can take 7-30 business days, depending on your bank.
Basic Insurance: Included in the rate. This covers third-party liability as per UAE law but has a high deductible (excess) for damage to the rental vehicle.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) / Super CDW: An optional extra that significantly reduces or eliminates your financial liability (deductible) for damage to the rental car. We highly recommend it for peace of mind.
